We seek to fill a postdoctoral position in our research group. The topic of the research project will be the coupling of a novel plasma ionization source for high-resolution mass spectrometry with solid-phase microextraction, characterization and further development of this hyphenated method, and development of promising analytical applications. This project is a collaboration with a major manufacturer and supplier of SPME and lab automation devices. State-of-the-art MS instrumentation is available in our group, and world-class departmental facilities (mechanical and electronic workshops, library services, computing facilities, etc.) are accessible at ETH Zurich.
Prerequisites: Ph.D. degree in chemistry or related area, strong background in analytical chemistry and instrumentation, motivated to work with an industrial partner. In unserer Forschungsgruppe ist eine Postdoktorandenstelle neu zu besetzen. Das Forschungsthema betrifft die Kopplung einer neuartigen Plasma-Ionisationsquelle für die hochauflösende Massenspektrometrie mit Festphasen-Mikroextraktionsmethode, die Charakterisierung und Weiterentwicklung dieser gekoppelten Analysenmethode sowie die Entwicklung vielverprechender analytischer Anwendungen. Das Projekt ist eine Zusammenarbeit mit einem wichtigen Hersteller und Lieferanten von SPME Materialien und Laborautomations-Geräten.
Voraussetzungen: Abgeschlossenes Doktorat in Chemie oder einem verwandten Gebiet, sehr gute Kenntnisse in Analytischer Chemie, Freude an Instrumenten-Entwicklung und an einer Zusammenarbeit mit einem Industrie-Partner.
